about

From Toronto, Canada, Zimbabwean born Solvent is the stage name of electronic producer and re- mixer, Jason Amm. His music neatly defies categorisation, too sweetly melodic for techno or acid and too fiendishly detailed for synth-pop. Solvent first materialised in 1997 with a string of singles and full-length albums, along with notable remixes of artists, which include Soft Cell, Alter Ego and Adult. Nowadays he spends time obsessively grappling with an outsized collection of vintage analogue synthesisers, samplers and sequencers. Jason also teamed up with director Robert Fantinatto to produce the film 'I Dream Of Wires', a documentary about the history, demise and resurgence of the modular synthesiser and for which he produced the soundtrack.
