about

Kumo began in 1994 when producer, arranger and thereminist Jono Podmore began to release his own material. He had been working closely with artists such as Jamiroquai, The Shamen, Republica, and B.J Cole and was ready to enter the ring himself. After a string of singles, 2 albums and
live shows, including regular nights at The End, he began work with the Can founder as Irmin Schmidt and Kumo - whilst continuing with solo releases, collaborations, film music, remixes and installations. In 2004 he was appointed Professor of Popular Music at the prestigious Cologne University of Music. He is currently developing a major film and performance project: Horrorshow, working as part of experimental collective Metamono, and editing the previously unheard Can archive.
