about

Laura B, 'The Fantastic Laura B' to her friends, is a French born producer, musician and singer who left her home in Paris on a whim one morning and came to London to learn studio engineering. Her first job was at Mayfair Studios, where within a few months she had worked with Pink Floyd who introduction her to the world of pure sound. This was followed by unforgettable orchestral sessions at Abbey Road, the likes of Eric Clapton dropping by for overdubs, Michael Kamen writing the new score for Brazil on the piano she looked on. She was soon intoxicated and in love with music and sound. The roller coaster ride that lead her to techno, house, ambient and Laura B.

Buying her first Akai sampler and Atari computer in 1998 she began writing music. In 1999 I released my first track (the instrumental of Midi a Minuit) on 'Female of the Species' Volume 1. That year she was spotted by Pete Lawrence and spent the next 10 years being a featured artist at the Big Chill Festival.

On ending her record deal with them Laura decided to go alone, the freedom at last to develop her own label. We soon saw the released of 'The orange ep' on 'Fantastic Recordings'
