about

Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Phil Dickson-Earle, aka Pearl’, is the owner and inspiration behind
UK independent label Law & Auder Records. “The type of breakbeat nonsenses I was playing around with was so ridiculously non-conformist, no label in their right mind would touch it. So, I started my own!” Working as in-house studio engineer for Caspar Pound (The Hypnotist), at Rising High Records in the early 90s, he was exposed to the emerging world of techno, Progressive House, Trip hop, ambient and drum’n’bass. The early UK Jungle scene soon became the focus of his attention, before he stumbled onto the path of more abstract and experimental electronic music. Here Phil is is guided by Ed Symons (Bovaflux) through his very first modular session.
