The Slut is an adulterous piece of musical filth. It was written especially for the Sit On My Face compilation and marks the first release for new artist, producer and vicar's daughter, Naomi Paten. Formerly released from the slave trade of the music industry (working for the notorious "Stevo" and Syndicate Productions) she recently left her job as label manager to set up on her own and work full-time on Production.

Signing "The Slut" has been something of an omen for her, as the first track ever submitted to a label was accepted. She laughs now remembering how coy she suddenly became when first given the brief from Rigid Records. However construction soon flowed after finding creative inspiration from her vibrator . . . dutifully sampled on vari-speed.

Naomi's style is hard and melodic, her song writing angular and production electronic. She started buying keyboards whilst at university studying Commercial Music and now has her own small but perfectly formed home studio.

Nymph is a shared pseudonym taken from a new label of the same name (N.Y.M.P.H) which was set up by Naomi and friend Estelle Harris, also a producer. Both artists met whilst studying and conceptualised the label as part of their dissertation.

As is true for most students, the world of work proved quite a shock and real-life label plans were frozen temporarily as time became an issue. Admin by day, A&R by night, Naomi watched a lot of crap bands for a year, before taking action to get back into composition. Full-time work was replaced by part-time and finally making money for other people is out of vogue completely.

Things are looking good for Nymph now that she has blockaded the door of her studio. Wait outside for a while and you might just get an ear full of her bolshy bass lines and general weirdness.
